Since 1970 Hein & Oetting has been a renowned name on the market of precision engineering. Right from the start our name has had a great reputation in the industry. We substantiated this reputation through our innovative spirit, our absolute reliability in terms of product quality, adherence to delivery times and our commitment to "zero-defects-production" - thus precision out of passion.
Company history
The history of Hein & Oetting reaches back to the year 1837: initially as an importer, later as a manufacturer of nautical products. Carl Plath founded the company C. Plath in Hamburg.
1970: Peter Hein and Ernst Oetting establish Hein & Oetting OHG as a "2 men company".
1992: Peter Hein and Ernst Oetting found Hein & Oetting Feinwerktechnik GmbH. They take over parts of the production, later also the assembly of compasses and assembly groups for the ship navigation of C. Plath. In the years following, the company expanded and additionally broadened its production-based competencies.
2005: In the wake of the company succession, Ernst Oetting handed over the management of the company to Lars Reeder. The company further enlarges its portfolio range in precision engineering.
2006: Takeover and integration of the manufacture of complete medical- technical products for the Hamburg-based company "Weinmann medical technology" into the portfolio of Hein & Oetting.
2009: Lars Reeder wins the KfW Award for Companies "FounderChampion 2009" - as regional winner of the Federal state of Hamburg and as national champion in the category "Economic success".
